What Our Promise Actually Means
If a job we completed isn’t right, we come back, we fix it, and you pay nothing extra – that’s the whole promise, and it’s in writing on every invoice.
The 365-Day Done Right Promise isn’t a marketing line we trot out once and bury in the terms. It’s the standard Shane Delaney and every Blackthorn technician are held to on every job, coast to coast. You don’t need to fill out a form, argue with a call center, or wait for a manager to approve a callback. You tell us what’s wrong. We come back out. We make it right.
Blackthorn is a proud member of the Cedarwell family of businesses, and The Cedarwell Care Promise co-signs that commitment. When the Cedarwell name is on a guarantee, the whole family stands behind it – not just the crew that showed up, but the brand they represent and the ownership group above them. That’s what co-signed means. You have backup.
Why We Answer Fast, Everywhere
A one-truck shop is great when everything goes right on a Tuesday afternoon. At midnight on a Sunday, when a lock fails and the kids are already in pajamas, you need something different.
What a national brand with local crews can do is keep people on standby, vehicles stocked, and dispatch running around the clock – so when you call, a real person picks up and a technician who already has the right parts on the truck can head your way. That’s what we’ve built. Our crews operate locally, which means they know the roads and don’t have to drive in from three counties over. Our dispatch runs nationally, which means we’re never closed, never short-staffed on a holiday, and never routing you to voicemail at an inconvenient hour.
The response promise we work to: a real person answers every call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and on an emergency we aim to have a technician on your property within 4 hours. Most non-emergency repairs book the same day or the next. We don’t advertise a window we can’t honestly keep.
How We Make It Right
You Tell Us
Call (818) 390-9007 and tell the person who answers what’s wrong – that’s the only step that belongs to you. No web forms to track down, no case numbers to reference, no waiting for a business-hours email reply. A live person is there every hour of the day, and they can pull your job record while you’re on the phone.
We Come Back Out
We schedule a return visit at a time that works for your household – not a four-hour window that eats your whole afternoon if we can help it. The technician who returns will already know the job history, the hardware involved, and what wasn’t right. You won’t have to re-explain it from the beginning.
We Fix It
Whatever the issue is – a cylinder that binds, a deadbolt that wasn’t seated flush, a keypad that isn’t reading consistently – we correct it. If the original part needs to come off and a better one go on, that’s on us. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the labor and the hardware we supplied, with no charge for the return visit.
You Sign Off
We don’t consider the job closed until you’ve confirmed it’s right – in person, before the technician leaves. Shane’s standard is simple: if you wouldn’t sign off on it in your own home, don’t hand the customer a pen. The photo of the clean-up goes out when you’re satisfied, not before.
What Stands Behind the Promise
Promises are only as solid as the people and systems keeping them.
Every Blackthorn technician is background-checked before they’re dispatched to a home. They arrive in uniform, so you know exactly who is at the door before you open it. That matters to us as much as it matters to you – Shane Delaney built the crew this way from the beginning, and it’s not something we’d negotiate away.
On pricing: a written price is delivered before any work starts, every time. Not a verbal ballpark, not a starting-from figure. A number. The one on your invoice matches the one you approved. There are no hourly rates billed after the fact, no subscriptions, no add-ons that appear at the end. One job, one price, agreed in writing first.
The hardware we carry reflects the same thinking. We stock and install Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, and Baldwin for everyday residential work. For higher-security needs, we work with Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Sargent, and Abloy. When a less expensive option will do the job properly, we’ll say so. When a job calls for a certified high-security cylinder, we’ll explain why and let you decide.
And because this matters to families with kids and pets: we bring shoe covers and drop cloths inside the house on every visit. We use pet-safe products where there’s a choice. We keep tools quiet when children are asleep. We ask before we move anything. These aren’t upgrades. They’re the baseline.
Ask Us to Prove It
The best way to understand what this promise covers is to read the full terms – every condition, every limitation, written plainly – on our Promise Terms page. Or skip ahead and call (818) 390-9007. A real person answers, every hour. Tell us what you need, and we’ll give you a written price before anyone heads your way.
